Saint Basil's Cathedral (Cathedral of Intercession of the Virgin on the Moat), commissioned by Ivan the Terrible between 1555 and 1561 to commemorate the capture of the Khanate of Kazan. In the garden at the front of the Cathedral stands a bronze statue commemorating Dmitry Pozharsky and Kuzma Minin who rallied Russia's volunteer army against Polish invaders during the "Time of Troubles" (period of interregnum after the death of last Moscow Rurikids dinasty Tsar: Feodor Ivanovich aka Ivan the Terrible in 1598, and the establishment of Romanov Dinasty with Michael I in 1613) (added to the Unesco's Wold Heritage List in 1990).
