Germany, Rhineland-Palatinate, Boppard, 2006-October-12: Image of a view over the huge bend of the river Rhine at Boppard, with the "Bopparder Hamm" wine-growing region on the left and the town of Boppard on the right side; right in between them the village of Filsen. The "Bopparder Hamm" is the largest wine-growing region within the Middle-Rhine Valley, for the most part planted with Riesling grapes. In the year 2002 the UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization) designated the Middle-Rhine Valley between Bingen and Koblenz as a world heritage region.
