Stock Photo Description: Jacobsville Sandstone along the shores of Lake Superior was first laid down as a base for pre-cambrian minerals. The reddish color is from infusions of iron ore. The smaller lake-washed stones are a mixture including ancient volcanic basalts, and smoothed sandstones. Photo taken on the west side of Presque Isle, Marquette Michigan, August 2006. Nice background for copy or textural use.
